Information to applicants

Welcome to the ESGO Exam that will be held on February 25th 1PM CET, 2026, prior to the ESGO Congress 2026 in Copenhagen, Denmark in a nearby Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers.

ESGO members (trainees)                                                                    260 EUR

ESGO Members from Low- and Lower-middle-income countries         315 EUR

ESGO Members from High- and Upper-middle-income countries        440 EUR

Non-ESGO members                                                                             690 EUR

 Application process:

To proceed with your application, please first create an account if you do not have one already. Ensure that you provide a valid email address, as all information regarding the exam will be sent to this address.

The following documents will be required during the application process:

  • Certificate of medical degree in ENGLISH (pdf format)
  • Short CV (pdf format)
  • Scan of passport or ID-card
  • To obtain fee for Trainees: Confirmation letter from a Training Center (in pdf)

All applications will be reviewed by ESGO Exam Committee within 7 days after the submission.

If you have any special needs or require specific support, please contact us in advance via exam@esgo.org so we can make the necessary arrangements.

Methods of payment:

If the payment is not received within 7 working days upon approval, your seat may be offered to another candidate on the waiting list.

Once your application is approved, you will be contacted by the PCO of the ESGO Congress 2026 in Copenhagen with payment instructions. After completing the payment, you must upload the proof of payment or invoice to your application in Ortrac and submit it accordingly.

If you require a VISA to attend, please make sure to indicate this with your payment and begin the application process as soon as possible.

Terms and Conditions

Why might my application be rejected?

Common reasons for application rejections include:

  • supporting documents are not in English
  • attachments are incomplete

By submitting this application, I acknowledge and agree that:

  • I am obliged to pay the application fee.
  • I understand that if I do not receive a visa in time to sit the examination or have any other logistical obstacles, I am not entitled to a refund or a seat transfer.
  • I understand the exam may be cancelled due to unforeseen organizational difficulties or if the minimum participation is not met. In such cases, a full refund will be provided.
  • I understand that I am providing personal data to prepare, deliver, and post-process the exam. This data may also be used for long-term storage of exam results and/or to contact me with offers related to fellowships and educational programs. Without this data, the exam cannot be processed. I will need to comply with the GDPR and privacy policy.

Cancellation and refund policy:

Any cancellation must be submitted to the examination secretariat (exam@esgo.org) in writing.
    1. Before December 31st of 2025
      • 50% voucher for the next Exam 2027
    2. Starting January 1st of 2026
      • non-refundable

No shows are not eligible for a refund.
